Goose hunting has long been considered one of the favorite activities of men in Russia, who cannot imagine their life without nature. And today, many hunters are ready to travel day and night through the fields and arable lands, and hang around in the swamps in ambush, just to get their hunting trophy in the form of a white-fronted goose or bean goose. However, according to statistics, only 5 - 7% of hunters manage to shoot a bird. This is because the goose is a cunning and cautious bird, flies high, and rarely enters the field of reach. Therefore, experienced hunters know: geese need to be lured. This can be done in several ways.

Instructions

Step 1

It is worth looking for decoys in shops for hunters and fishermen or on specialized sites on the Internet. This is a sound device for simulating the calls of geese. With its help, the hunter can attract the attention of a flying flock and ensure that the birds descend lower, to the distance of the shot. Decoys differ depending on which subspecies of birds they are intended for. They can be made of plexiglass, wood, there are also electronic decoys. It is recommended to make sounds with their help in the field, and not in a swamp.

Step 2

Figures of geese. You can make a profile yourself by simply drawing an image of a pecking goose on the material you have and cutting it along the contour with a jigsaw. Then the goose needs to be painted white and gray, not forgetting to highlight the beak and legs in red. The profile size should be larger than the size of a live goose to attract the attention of birds flying by. Since geese live in flocks, they cannot but pay attention to their relatives who are supposedly pecking at something. There must be several profiles for the bait so that they imitate a flock of goose. They can be placed both in the field and on the water, of course, having previously planted the profile on pointed pegs or rods.

Step 3

Along with profiles, a decoy stuffed goose is considered a good decoy. Bulky stuffed animals are made of rubber and sold in specialized stores. They are not cheap, so some hunters get out of the situation by buying more economical goose frames and wrapping them with toilet paper coated with paste, like papier-mâché. When the paper dries, the papier-mâché is cut, the frame is taken out and used as a basis for preparing the next decoy goose.
