Instructions

Step 1

If you decide to issue a pedigree for your four-legged friend, decide on what documents you have available. A puppy born in a kennel or a private breeder must have a puppy card (metric), which is issued at his birth. It is desirable that the puppy card is of the established RKF sample (Russian Cynological Federation). A sample can be viewed on the official website of the RKF.

Step 2

When buying, check with the breeder if the documents for registration of the entire litter have been sent to the Russian Kennel Federation. Whether the litter has passed the registration. Registration of general litter documents is a mandatory procedure, otherwise, not a single puppy will receive a pedigree.

Step 3

With a filled-in puppy card (you need to enter yourself in the "Owner" field), contact the Russian Kennel Federation. You can also exchange metrics for pedigree in one of the federations that are part of the RKF (Russian Federation of Hunting Dogs, Russian Organization of Dog Lovers, ANKOR, Russian Federation of Service Dogs), and take a receipt for payment of the membership fee for registration of the pedigree.

Step 4

Submit your puppy test along with the paid receipt to the federation's reception. And at the appointed time, pick up the completed pedigree. On average, registration takes 14 working days. If necessary, ask for an urgent exchange by paying additionally for this service. You will receive the pedigree in an hour. If you are not in Moscow, join a kennel club in your city and complete all documents through it.

Step 5

If you plan to use a dog in breeding work, it makes sense to draw up a pedigree when the puppy reaches the age of 6-8 months. For a non-bred dog, pedigree is not required. By 6-8 months, you will more objectively assess the breed qualities of the growing animal, its exterior, psyche, and possible shortcomings.
