Chicks in the nest can suddenly become orphaned. It is not that difficult to feed them. You just need to know what kind of birds they are, what they usually eat. If you have a yellow-cheeked pet, try to learn as much as possible about it, and only then start feeding.

It is necessary

  • - pipette
  • - disposable syringes
  • - tweezers
  • - food for chicks

Instructions

Step 1

Chick food can be liquid or solid. For the crumbs recently hatched from the egg, the mother regurgitates partially digested food from the goiter, which you can replace with semi-liquid porridge. Just do not cook semolina or rice, look for a special powder in the trade, which will need to be diluted in accordance with the instructions.

Step 2

Wash your hands thoroughly. Fill the porridge into a syringe, put a pipette filled with water next to it.

Step 3

If the chick is sitting in the nest, slightly wiggle it, imitating the mother arriving. In response, the zheltorotik will open its beak wide, into which you will only have to pour in the food. Make sure that the tip of the syringe is pointing directly into the throat and not under the tongue. At the end of feeding, pour a couple of drops of water into the beak to rinse off any remaining food.

Step 4

Chicks feeding on larvae or worms should be fed with tweezers. If the chicks no longer open their beak of their own free will, you will have to help them. Take your baby into a fist. Secure it gently but lightly.

Step 5

Open the beak with the fingers of the other hand, insert the index finger of the holding hand into it, the chick is ready for feeding. Take the food with tweezers, insert it deep into the bird's mouth and immediately drip water from the pipette to induce the swallowing reflex.

Step 6

Make sure that the chick does not lie on its back, otherwise it will choke. You do not need to tamp the feed into the bird, as soon as you feel the crop is full, you can stop feeding. By acting carefully, you will be able to grow the chick until it can eat the food on its own.
