It is a noble cause to feed birds with seeds in parks. However, many birds need such "material" help on your part all the time, especially in winter and spring, when there is so little food. And here feeders will come to the rescue. You can cut out the usual feeders from milk boxes, or you can come up with something more interesting.

It is necessary

  • For the spring "ice" feeder:
  • - various berries (mountain ash, hawthorn, irga);
  • - seeds;
  • - metal molds from floating candles or deep ice molds;
  • - wire or tight rope.
  • For the plate feeder:
  • - two wooden plates with a diameter of about 30 cm;
  • - carriage bolt about 30 cm long;
  • - drill;
  • - washers or nuts;
  • - twine.
  • For the box feeder:
  • - two empty containers for instant noodles;
  • - two pieces of plywood.

Instructions

Step 1

Ice troughs. Fill the trays with berries and seeds about halfway. Make a loop of wire or rope, lower it into the mold. Leave a long tail on which you will hang the feeders.

Step 2

Fill the molds with water, put them in the freezer. Hang these feeders in a prominent place on a spring day. The ice will slowly melt, and birds can easily peck berries from the brittle ice. Of course, for a thirty-degree frost, such feeders will not work - have mercy on the unfortunate birds.

Step 3

Plate Feeder: Drill holes in the middle of both plates with a drill. Make the diameter of the holes slightly smaller than the diameter of the bolt - later adjust it by hand so that the bolt is held firmly.

Step 4

Insert a bolt into the plates, secure it with washers, nuts and other fasteners.

Step 5

Drill two more small holes in the bowl that will serve as the lid of the trough, about 1.5 cm from the bolt. Make the holes exactly opposite each other - you will pull the string through them, so they should be symmetrical to each other. Otherwise, the feeder will not hang straight.

Step 6

Pass a string or string through the holes. Hang it on a branch, balcony, or other convenient place for birds. Fill the feeder.

Step 7

Box Feeder: Measure the width of the noodle boxes. Cut two plywood with a length equal to the width of the box and about 10 cm wide. Connect the parts with super glue - the boxes will be the ceiling and floor, and the plywood will be the side walls.

Step 8

Make two holes in the top box, hang the feeder on a branch and fill it.
