The occipital protuberance is also moderately developed. The transition from nose to muzzle is well defined. The bridge of the nose is straight, tapering from the base towards the tip of the nose. The nose is wide, only dark in color.
The lips are black, fit tightly, the gums are mostly dark. The jaws of the Rottweiler are strong and wide, with pronounced cheekbones. Normal bite is scissor bite. The eyes are medium in size, dark, almond-shaped. The ears are also medium, triangular in shape, set high and wide. Their front edges are adjacent to the cheekbones, which visually expands the skull. The neck is medium in length, muscular, without folds and fat deposits.
The back is straight and strong, passing into a short and wide loin. The croup is medium in length, slightly rounded. In Rottweilers, the chest is wide and deep, with well-developed bones. The belly is slightly tucked up in the groin area, the tail is elongated, hanging freely in a calm state. The limbs are straight, stand at some distance from each other. The elbows are close to the body, the forearms are well muscled. The toes of these dogs are, as it were, collected in a lump, the paw itself is dense and round, with short claws. The articulation angles of the hind limb joints are obtuse. The hind legs are well muscled.
Skin, color, character of Rottweilers
The skin on the head of Rottweilers is smooth, the appearance of wrinkles is noted only if the dog is interested. The coat generally includes the guard hair and the undercoat. The hair is of medium length, coarse to the touch, adheres tightly to the skin. The undercoat is not visible. The length of the coat is the same almost everywhere, only on the hind legs it is slightly longer. The standard color of Rottweilers is black with brown inserts. These inserts are located under the eyes, on the face, throat, chest, limbs, under the tail.
Rottweilers are distinguished by their balanced nervous system and calmness, contrary to popular belief about their aggressiveness, they are very loyal to children. They quickly become attached to the owner, but do not obey other people. The owner obeys and recognizes his authority, lends itself well to training. By nature, these are very brave dogs that need moderately strict discipline from the owner. They have a highly developed instinct of ownership, which allows them to become reliable guards and protectors. It is also a great companion. But do not forget that genetically Rottweilers are still predetermined for service and protection, and not for family fun.
