It is necessary

To remove the frame, you will need solid wood bars. As a floor, it is necessary to use a mesh with a mesh size of 1, 7 cm - 2 cm. For ventilation and air access to the front side of the cage, plastic or wooden slats up to 3 cm wide will be required

Instructions

Step 1

Before starting construction, it is necessary to determine the size of the future cage. In the case of breeds of large animals, the length of the cage will be 1.5 meters with a width of 70 cm and a height of about 50 cm. For average rabbits, a cage with dimensions of 90x60x45 cm will suffice.

Step 2

For the construction of the cage, materials prepared in advance will be required. It is advisable to use boards or thick plywood as the walls of the cage. All material must be carefully processed and sanded.

Step 3

Now you need to collect the cage. The work begins with the assembly of the frame. At a height of 70 cm, bars are knocked down at the corners of the cage in the form of a box. Having previously secured four supports, which simultaneously serve as the lateral ribs of the future cell. Fastening can be both in the ground and in the wall of an adjacent building. The frame is assembled in such a way that the height of the front part is 55 cm, and the rear 35 cm for a pitched roof.

Step 4

It is necessary to sheathe the cage, leaving an empty roof and two door openings at the edges of the front of the cage. Dividing the cage into nesting and stern compartments, the floor in the stern compartment is sewn up with a fine mesh net, and in the nesting board. The compartments are separated by a partition with a cut-out hole for a manhole. The septum is attached to the walls of the cage.

Step 5

Doors for both compartments are made and hinged. The roof is made in the same way. A full-size door is attached to the back of the cage. In this case, the task is to make the rabbit cage as easy to use as possible. For the convenience of feeding, the door in the aft compartment can be made of a net with a box attached to the outside of the feeder. The cage is ready.
