Many parents are afraid to keep animals in the house when they are about to have a baby. Concerns are caused by the possible appearance of allergies in the baby, harmful diseases that the animal can transmit to the child, or even injuries that the pet can inflict on the baby.

Instructions

Step 1

Do not be afraid to keep an animal in the house, even if you are about to have a child. After all, any animal with a competent approach can bring much more benefit to the baby than harm. If a child appears in a house where there is already a pet, his immune system gets used to the substances secreted by the hair, learns to fight them. Such a child will never have an allergy to the wool of this animal. That is, the cat or dog itself helps the baby to cope with diseases and acquire the necessary antibodies already in infancy. And besides, animals are the best friends of children, because kids love them very much. It is pets that teach the child to take good care of the one who is smaller than them, to love nature, to take care of pets.

Step 2

If you already have an animal, do not give it away before giving birth. Better introduce the kid to him, teach him how to handle him correctly. Let the animal get used to it and understand what is possible for him in relation to the baby, and what is not. Avoid too close contact of the baby with the pet, especially at first. It is impossible for the cat to climb into the crib to the baby, and the dog licks it. This is dangerous for the baby's health. In the same way, you need to make sure that the grown-up child does not offend the animal, otherwise it may respond. Do not let the kid drag the pet by the fur or tail, beat him with toys. This, of course, involves much more attention to both the child and the animal, but love for them is still more important than the perceived difficulties.

Step 3

It is best to have the animal that you want and for which you know how to care - a dog, a cat, a parrot, a rodent. After all, caring for a baby will require all your attention, there will be very little time left for the animal. You should not have, for example, a puppy or a kitten at the same time as your child. You yourself will not be happy if you have to constantly clean up after a small pet, train it, train it to the toilet, feed it by the hour, actively play with it, trying to tire the fidget. Do not let you have another small child, yours will be enough for you. So it is worth considering this issue in advance: either take a small animal long before giving birth, so that it has time to mature by the time the baby is born, or take an adult pet.

Step 4

To communicate with children, many parents choose very quiet and calm animals: turtles, fish. But with them there are certain inconveniences. They will not disturb the baby by barking or scratching him, but the baby can break the aquarium or harm the animal himself. Therefore, it is so important that parents are constant intermediaries in communication between the animal and the child. But the joy of such communication between the baby and your pet cannot be replaced by any toys.

Step 5

It is important to remember that the animal must be vaccinated. And therefore it is better to have such a pet, about the care of which you know as much as possible. His contact with the baby is inevitable, so it is worth protecting both the animal itself and the child from the appearance of possible diseases. In addition, independently monitor the condition of the animal: cut it in time, comb the coat, trim the claws, take care of the oral cavity, remove worms.
