It is necessary

Plywood, furniture corners, self-tapping screws, carpet, poralon, upholstery fabric, woodworking tools, drill, glue, large diameter plastic pipe, natural thick rope, scissors

Instructions

Step 1

First, think over the design of the future cat bungalow. Most often, cat houses consist of a shelter house itself, a scratching post pipe, along which the animal can climb up or just use it for daily manicure, and a small viewing shelf at the top. If desired, the design can be complicated with additional houses and shelves, equipped with tethered toys and decorated to your liking. After the drawing and layout are ready, you can proceed directly to the assembly.

Step 2

The top shelf should be the size of the cat. Make a rectangular base from plywood and glue foam rubber to it so that the animal is soft and comfortable. Outside, such a shelf can be upholstered with dense fabric or carpet. Remember that the cat will not only sleep and sit on the house, looking around, but it can also use it to sharpen its claws. All parts must be practical and functional.

Step 3

Make a house from the same plywood by connecting the sheets with corners and securing them with self-tapping screws. The inside of such a house should be upholstered with soft material to keep the cat warm and comfortable to sleep inside. Upholste the outside with the same carpet that was used for the upholstery of the top shelf. When constructing a shelter house, be sure to consider the size of your cat. The animal should not be cramped inside, but it should not be too spacious either. Stick to the middle ground. Do not forget that the opening for entering the house should also be upholstered with soft material and not very spacious.

Step 4

Make a scratching post out of a large diameter plastic pipe. Fasten the screws at the top and bottom. The lower ones will connect the scratching post to the plywood base, and the upper ones will be attached to the cat's viewing shelf. The base must also be upholstered with carpet so that it is pleasant for the animal to step on it. Of course, your cat will not sharpen claws on a bare pipe. Therefore, it is necessary to glue a coarse natural fiber rope along the entire diameter. The first layer can be planted on PVA, and the rest can be simply wound tightly onto the base, securing the ends at the top and bottom. Now that all the details of the house are ready, you can attach them to the common base as you originally intended.
