Recently, cases of disappearance of pets have become more frequent, and there are a great many reasons for this, but each of us should be prepared to immediately start looking for our friend!

Lost dog, what to do?
Lost dog, what to do?

It is necessary

  • - Color photo of the missing pet;
  • - Lithuanians, advertisements for distribution (with a detailed description and photograph);
  • - information about the location of markets where animals are sold (zoo markets);
  • - information about private shelters and nurseries;
  • - information on the temporary keeping of animals of state capture
  • - and much more

Instructions

Step 1

As soon as you find the disappearance of a pet, first of all, you need to quickly bypass as much of the territory as possible where the disappearance occurred, while you need to remember that:

- if the territory is familiar to the dog, then the search should be carried out both in the familiar territory and outside of it. It is imperative to inspect the roadway very carefully, the dog could cross the road and get lost or be in a panic. Find out from passers-by if they have seen a service for trapping stray animals in the vicinity;

- if the territory is not familiar to the dog (often loyalty plays a cruel joke, since the pet can run away in search of the owner from a temporary shelter, be it relatives - on vacation or a veterinary clinic), in this case, the search territory will expand significantly, since the dog will move to search for their home. At the same time, the dog is able to overcome tens of kilometers a day. There were cases that pets came home without knowing the way and being very far from home, but also the practice of searching showed that pets can leave in the opposite direction.

While walking around the territory, it is necessary to notify all oncoming dog owners, janitors, residents of this territory and just passers-by that the dog is lost - with a detailed description of its appearance, preferably with a color photograph. If there are suspicions of the abduction of a pet, then as soon as possible contact the law enforcement agencies.

Step 2

If, as a result of bypassing the territory, you still did not find the dog, it is necessary to prepare leaflets (in the form of business cards) and announcements (with detachable coordinates) with a detailed description and a photograph, often the promise of a reward plays an active role. You should not indicate the special signs of the dog and the numbers of the brand, let those who found them name them to you, in extreme cases, you can indicate the first and / or last number!

Advertisements must be placed throughout the intended territory of the pet, in places of large gathering of people (stops, shops, clinics, as well as in veterinary clinics, pet stores, places for walking dogs).

Place your ad:

- school. Hand out flyers to schoolchildren - children are very enthusiastic when you ask them like that;

- in taxis and public transport. Dogs often go beyond the intended territory;

- in social networks (forums, various sites), TV channels and newspapers. It is also necessary to view the sources of information on the found animals.

Attention! Ads are often ripped off very quickly, and therefore, every day, look at the placement area and, if necessary, glue it again. Also, pay attention to the likelihood of placing counter advertisements about finding an animal.

Step 3

As soon as possible, you need to call and travel around:

- private shelters and nurseries;

- services for trapping stray animals;

- places of temporary keeping of animals of state capture;

- all veterinary clinics of the city;

- the breeder and / or the organization where the dog was purchased (if there is such a factor);

- Provocative authorities in case you have suspicions about the abduction of a pet.
