Why does the Indo-woman not sit on eggs

Indoor women are found in many farmsteads. These are unpretentious, calm and hardy birds, with which problems rarely arise. Indo-duck prepares the nest herself and breeds offspring twice a year. But sometimes the owners are faced with one problem: the Indo-woman does not want to sit on the eggs. Why is this happening and what to do?

Indo-woman does not sit on eggs: reasons

There are several reasons for this behavior of Indo-women. Firstly, this is the age of the bird: it is still too young to hatch offspring, or, conversely, old.

Secondly, unhealthy diet and poor living conditions. In the summer, the Indo-woman eats what she finds herself: grass, insects, small fish, etc. But twice a day she needs top dressing (grain or grated feed with flour). You need constant access to clean water and a reservoir where birds can swim at any time. We must not forget about the content of the Indoor. You need to keep the bird in a light barn without drafts, the floor should be warm.

Another reason for the refusal of an Indo-duck to hatch eggs is improper preparation of the nest. The bird is uncomfortable in it, there is too much noise or light. It is better for the owner to prepare several nests in different places so that the Indo-woman herself can choose a convenient place.

Indo-duck may not sit on eggs or abandon the nest if disturbed during incubation. In order not to frighten off the bird, you can look or remove the eggs only in the dark when it is sleeping.

What should the owner do if an Indo-woman doesn't want to sit on eggs

Usually, an Indo-woman easily sits on eggs, but if this does not happen, you need to look for the cause and, if possible, eliminate it. If this is due to the age of the bird, then nothing can be done. In other cases, it is necessary to review the diet of the Indo-woman, provide her with a varied diet and a sufficient amount of vitamins.

Provide birds with constant access to water and food, build a comfortable barn, and provide safe nesting areas. Even if you are very interested in how many eggs she laid and how she behaves in the nest, do not bother her in any way. It is better to remove excess eggs only when the bird has left the nest. There is no need to worry that the Indo-duck will not cope with something during planting or will do something wrong, this is a smart bird that lets only the father of its ducklings approach the chicks.

If the Indo-women are provided with proper care and do not interfere during the incubation of eggs, then there will be no problems with the appearance of offspring. But if it is not possible to seat the bird, an incubator will come to the rescue.
