If your dog has been prescribed capsules, tablets, or pills, you can get him to take the medication by mixing it with food beforehand. It should be remembered that before mixing drugs with food, you must consult a veterinarian about the compatibility of this drug with food.
Sometimes it becomes necessary to give a tablet preparation in its pure form. Lightly lubricate the medication with sterile petroleum jelly to prevent it from sticking to the lips and tongue of the animal. Open the dog's mouth and place the preparation on the root of the tongue. Keeping the jaws clenched, tilt the animal's head slightly back and stroke the neck towards the stomach. Wait for the dog to swallow and release. If the dog then licks the nose, the medicine has been swallowed.

If necessary, give a liquid preparation, you can use a syringe without a needle. Raise the dog's head slightly and gently pull the edge of the lip at the corner of the mouth. Find the edentulous space between the canine and premolars. Insert the tip of the syringe there and pour in the medicine by pushing the plunger. It should be noted that liquid preparations must be given in portions calculated for one sip.
