If you decide to have a parrot, make sure that the bird is comfortable with you, create all the necessary conditions for this. You need a spacious cage, several exercise toys, stones for sharpening the beak, comfortable perches, suitable food and always fresh water. However, many people know about it. But the fact that a parrot needs to swim regularly is not known to all bird lovers.

Instructions

Step 1

Each parrot will bathe as often as he wants. Just give your pet that opportunity. Get a plastic bathing suit from the pet store and hang it inside the cage. Pour clean and warm water there (the temperature is slightly above room temperature). Usually the birds start splashing themselves and are very happy about this process. At the end of the procedure, remove the bathing suit from the cage so that the bird does not drink dirty water. After a couple of days, hang the parrot bath again in the cage. If he does not go into the water himself, you can put his favorite toy or treat there.

Step 2

Try pouring your bathing water into a large bowl. Place the container on the bottom of the cage - the parrot will drink from it and swim at the same time. But in this case, the water will have to be changed several times a day. If you don't want to constantly clean up the water splashed all over the cage, put a bowl outside, and put an oilcloth under it.

Step 3

You can “keep company” with your pet, parrots love it. Be close, immerse your hands in a bowl of water, splash with the bird, as it were, talk to it affectionately at the same time. But this is only true if your pet is tame.

Step 4

In case of complete trust between you and the bird, you can try to bathe it under the tap. The parrot should sit on your arm. Just create a calm atmosphere, without fuss, and do not forget: the jet should be very weak, the water should not be hot in any way.

Step 5

It happens that the parrot does not want to get into the water in any way. Bathe it in a different way. For example, in wet lettuce leaves or bunches of ordinary grass. Indeed, in nature, these birds wash just like this - plunging into the grass wet with dew. And in the case of a salad, the bird will pinch it and get vitamins - a double benefit.

Step 6

Some parrots willingly expose their feathers to the spray of a spray bottle. In this way, you can also bathe birds, imitating raindrops. Just do not spray cold water and do not allow the drops to be very small. After all, a parrot can inhale this "fog" and then sneeze.
