Cats have to travel quite often. To exhibitions, to a dacha, to a new apartment, or even on vacation to distant lands together with caring owners. In all these cases, a carrying bag is needed. You can buy it at the pet store, but you can also sew it. In this case, you will know exactly what materials the thing so necessary for the trip is made of.

It is necessary

  • - calendered nylon for the top;
  • - penofol or paraplen;
  • - flannel for lining;
  • - mosquito net;
  • - 4-5 buttons;
  • - lightning;
  • - parachute lines or corsage tape;
  • - sewing machine;
  • - soldering iron;
  • - nylon and cotton threads;
  • - needles;
  • - chalk or soap;
  • - graph paper;
  • - pencil or ballpoint pen.

Instructions

Step 1

Estimate the dimensions. The cat should fit freely in the bag, but at the same time there should not be too much space. Carrying length is approximately 1.5 times the length of the animal from the nose to the beginning of the tail. Width and height - slightly more than half the length.

Step 2

Draw a pattern on graph paper. Draw a rectangle for the bottom according to the dimensions. The side part can be cut into a strip, the width of which is equal to the height of the carrier, and the length is equal to the perimeter of the bottom. Draw a rectangle for the top flap too. It is the same length as the bottom, but its width is about one and a half times greater.

Step 3

Cut out the details of insulation, calendered nylon and flannel. Make the top flap without insulation, only from flannel and calender. Cut another valve out of the mosquito net

Step 4

Sew the insulation frame. If you are using Penofol, assemble the box so that the foil is on the outside. Sew the paraplen with nylon threads threaded into a thick needle. The frame can also be glued with universal glue. Smear the ends, press the long edges of the side pieces firmly against them and let the workpiece dry.

Step 5

To the bottom of the calendered nylon, baste and stitch long strips of the side part. Calendered fabrics are best cut with a soldering iron using a straight edge, in which case the seams do not need to be processed. Cut 2 straps 1.5-2 m long for handles from the parachute lanyard or corsage tape. Mark their position on the workpiece. The handles should be symmetrical and wrap around the entire carrier except the top flap. Baste them and stitch them on, then sew on short strips of the side part

Step 6

Fold the flannel and calender flaps over to the wrong sides. Baste and stitch all seams except for the flap that will be sewn to the back of the carrier. Iron the seams and turn the part to the right side. Press the open cut to the wrong side, then fold the seam allowances inward and iron again. Tape the flap from the mosquito net around the edge with tape, folding it in half. Leave the edge unstitched, which will be sewn to the back. Insert the open cut of the mesh flap into the allowances of the main one. Baste the flap to the back of the carrier and stitch

Step 7

Sweep and stitch short side seams. Insert a frame made of insulation into the outer part and sew the paraplen in several places to the allowances. Allowances can be glued to paraplens.

Step 8

Cut and sew a lining. The seams should be on the wrong side. The sidewall can be made in one piece so that you don't have to mess with the corners. Overlock the slices. Turn the lining out so that the front of it is inside the carrier, and insert it into the insulation frame. Fold in the seams on the outside and inside of the bag. Baste them and sew on the right side at a distance of 0.1 cm from the edge.

Step 9

Cut and overcast on both flaps. Sew buttons on the front of the carrier. The handles can be sewn together, but you can attach plastic buckles to them. In this case, the length will be adjusted.
