Health status
For any animal, health is the main criterion. And Bengal kittens, of course, are no exception. It is worth noting that this breed has one feature that some breeders do not take into account - at the beginning of complementary feeding, their immunity is greatly reduced. If this moment is missed, the kitten will grow up frail and sickly, or it will be healed to such an extent that it will not be able to respond to medications. Alas, such animals do not live long, so try to approach the choice of your pet as responsibly as possible and make sure that he is healthy and feels great. It is for this reason that kittens should be bought no earlier than the age of two months, so that the baby has time to feed on breast milk and get the necessary immunity.
Take a good look at the kitten. His ears, nose and anus should be clean, without any discharge or contamination. Pay attention to the kitten's mobility. It should not be very different from the mobility of his fellows. If possible, look at how a mother cat looks like - she should be neat and clean. It is also an indirect indicator of health.
Kittens class
In Bengal cats, it is customary to distinguish three quality classes of the litter: "pet", "breed" and "show". The "pet" class is animals intended for home keeping. As a rule, they have slight deviations from the standard, so they cannot be used for breeding or exhibitions. Actually, these deviations may not be visible to an inexperienced breeder at all, so if you just want to buy a kitten for home, this class is what you need. The second category - "breed" - animals intended for offspring. They have an ideal exterior and ideal breed characteristics, such kittens are more expensive. Well, the last class - "show" - the brightest representatives of the breed. With such animals it is not a shame to be shown at exhibitions, but on the other hand, their price is the highest.
Character
The nature of Bengal kittens is a separate story. After all, there is wild blood in this breed! Experienced breeders say that there are three types of character that can be distinguished in these cats: bully, talker and sly. The first always strives to get on the rampage, spin around the apartment and will not tolerate any objections or pushing. The second will entertain you with his persistent purr and will be more welcoming and sweet. The third will be cautious and inquisitive.
