Husky character

Huskies tend to have a calm and friendly disposition. This dog is not suitable for use as a hunting dog. She can hunt, but she never brings prey to the owner. Husky cannot be a watchdog, since she has practically no territorial instinct. This breed also does not make a guard or a service police dog, since these animals are not able to show aggression towards humans.

Given these characteristics of the breed, dog training should be carried out in line with the development of general obedience. Attempts to force huskies to engage in activities alien to these animals, at best, will lead nowhere. Training, designed to unblock the dog's aggression towards humans, can cause serious mental disorders.

Among other character traits of the husky, it is worth noting a lively mind, curiosity and love for outdoor games. These features and good physical fitness allow the representatives of this breed to achieve significant success in agility - a sport, the essence of which boils down to the passage of a special obstacle course by a dog.

Raising a husky

You need to start training from the moment the puppy appears in the house. The first is the command "Come to me!" It is served before the puppy is given a treat or a bowl of food. The next command is "Sit!" It must be practiced at every opportunity. Correct execution of a command must be encouraged with affection, praise, or a treat.

From 6-7 months, the main training of a husky puppy begins. If difficulties arise at this stage, an inexperienced owner is advised to seek the help of a professional instructor. Since the husky is independent, the puppy may run away and disobey the owner. In this case, the command "Come to me!" it is recommended to work out in a fenced area. Try to have positive emotions associated with this command. Do not call her to you to scold.

Another important command - "No!" or "Fu!" This is the only command given in a threatening voice. If the dog does not respond to the call, you can throw a rattling object, such as a tin can with stones, at it and repeat the command. The dog should never be hit. Successful assimilation of commands is achieved exclusively by regularly practicing them and encouraging them in case of execution.
