Fastidiousness in food worries many cat owners. In order to cope with this problem, you need to be patient and not give in to the demand of your beloved pet urgently to give him his favorite food.
Often, cats refuse to eat a variety of foods due to the fact that they have been accustomed to ready-made foods from childhood. If you have the opportunity to feed your purr with high-quality dry food and canned food, then there are no special problems, because such food is carefully balanced and the animal does not need additional feeding when using them.
It's another matter if the cat eats nothing but cheap economy-class food, which, with constant use, can cause metabolic disorders, diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, liver and kidneys. In this case, the animal simply needs to be transferred to good food or taught to eat regular food (meat, cereals, dairy products, boiled vegetables, mineral supplements).
If your cat flatly refuses to eat new food, then there are two ways. The first is the gradual change of food. For example, start adding pieces of meat or fish to your usual food, gradually reduce the amount of dry food to a minimum. After that, you can add some vegetables or cereals to the meat.
If your cat categorically refuses to eat pieces of meat when choosing food, then you need to use another method. Place the meat in a bowl and do not give the gourmet any other food. Fasting for two to three days is great for boosting your appetite and not harming your healthy body. The main thing is not to succumb to plaintive groans and sad eyes - the provocateur cat will try in every possible way to get your favorite delicacy from you. Seeing that the usual methods do not work, your pet will have no other options but to start eating normal food.
