Before you bring your kitten home, think about what kind of diet you will offer your little pet: "natural" feeding or ready-made food. As a rule, when selling kittens, each breeder gives new owners recommendations for feeding, but some owners, for some reason, prefer to compose their own rations for their pets. Therefore, these owners of Scottish Fold cats have a question: how to feed a Scottish Fold kitten correctly.

Instructions

Step 1

Provide the kitten with free access to food and water. Unlike dogs, cats eat often and in small portions. Your little kitten can go up to a cup of food 20-30 times a day. If you decide to feed your Scottish kitten with natural food or canned food, then at least 4 times a day change the food in his bowl to fresh, as such food disappears very quickly. And if you feed your baby with dry food, then he can be in the bowl all the time.

Step 2

When naturally fed, feed your kitten meat daily. It could be beef. Before offering it to your pet, the meat must be frozen for 3-5 days and given raw, or slightly boiled. For kittens up to 4 months old, feed meat in the form of minced meat or finely chopped. Give poultry meat (chicken or turkey) only well-cooked to avoid salmonellosis infection. 3 times a week, feed your pet offal (both beef and chicken) - liver, heart, lung, kidney, rumen. Give offal only frozen or boiled. Give the liver once a week and only boiled.

Step 3

Fish can only be given to cats of marine, non-fatty species. Before feeding the fish to your Scotsman, boil it, free it from all bones. Do not feed raw or freshwater fish to your kitten. Do not overuse fish, feed it 1-2 times a week. With constant consumption of fish (especially raw fish), cats can develop urolithiasis.

Step 4

Milk can only be given to kittens up to three months old. Further, the body of many animals ceases to assimilate it. Boil milk before giving it. Better yet, replace milk with fermented milk products: kefir or low-fat sour cream. Don't give your kitten cream. Even with the lowest percentage of fat, this product is harmful to the animal's liver. Also, do not give yoghurts - as a rule, they all contain sugar.

Step 5

Give your pet porridge made from rice, oatmeal, and wheat several times a week. Boil them in water or milk. If you cook in water, then add meat, broth from meat and boiled vegetables, grated in mashed potatoes to these cereals. Egg yolk can also be added to cereals. If the eggs are not homemade, be sure to boil them. Grind 1 yolk in mashed potatoes and add to porridge.

Step 6

When feeding naturally, do not forget about vitamin supplements. Before using any vitamins, consult your veterinarian. Seeing the general condition of the kitten and knowing its diet, the veterinarian will help you choose the most optimal vitamin complex for your pet.

Grass is a good vitamin supplement. But in no case give grass from the street. Purchase special cat grass from the pet store and follow the instructions to germinate it.

Step 7

If you decide to feed your Scottish Fold kitten with ready-made food, then choose food "Premium" or "Super premium" class. Never feed your baby with cheap food - this can have a very bad effect on his health, since such food contains very little meat per se, but there are a lot of offal (up to skin or feathers) and vitamins are not well balanced. When feeding ready-made food, do not add vitamins to the kitten - there are enough of them in the food. Choose food that is appropriate for your cat's age.
