Cats are very affectionate and sociable animals that love the attention of the owner and know how to demand it. And, at the same time, they are quite independent, from time to time they need solitude, where, in a calm atmosphere, they can sleep and rest. Special cat houses are sold in stores, but they may not always fit into the interior of the house. To please your pet, you can make a DIY cat house.

It is necessary

  • - plywood sheet 8 mm thick;
  • - jigsaw;
  • - a piece of plastic pipe with a diameter of 10 cm;
  • - furniture fasteners - corners;
  • - PVA glue;
  • - dense carpet;
  • - rope.

Instructions

Step 1

You can make your pet not just a house, but a comfortable observation platform, a scratching post and a place to sleep, which this design will combine. Please note that for the manufacture of a place for a cat, it is necessary to use only natural materials that do not have a sharp and unpleasant odor, otherwise it simply will not accept such a home. Also, make sure the structure is strong enough to safely support your pet's weight.

Step 2

Cats are amazing creatures and even a huge cat is able to "pack" into a shoe box from under women's shoes. But you need to make a house in which he will have where to stretch his legs. Using a jigsaw, cut 7 squares 40x40 or 50x50 cm from a sheet of plywood, depending on the size of your pet. If he is still a kitten, then make a house "for growth." 6 squares will serve as the walls, ceiling and floor of the new cat's dwelling, and the 7th will serve as an observation platform.

Step 3

Saw out a hole-door in one of the squares. It can be round, 25-30 cm in diameter, or it can be rectangular with slightly rounded corners.

Step 4

Cover one side of each square piece with carpet. This will be the interior of the future cat's house. Assemble a cube from 6 parts, fixing them together with the help of furniture corners. Liberally coat all seams with PVA glue.

Step 5

A piece of plastic pipe 35-40 cm long tightly, turn to turn, wrap with a rope, securely fixing its ends so that the rope does not unwind later - it will have to endure heavy loads, because it will serve as a scratching post. Use furniture corners to secure it like a pipe on the roof of a cat's house.

Step 6

Using furniture corners, attach the 7th square to the upper edge of the pipe - an observation platform, which should also be covered with carpet. If necessary, you can paste over the outer surfaces of the house with some kind of cloth or thick paper. Put toys and treats that your pet loves so much inside the house, and invite him to celebrate housewarming.
