Small eared Yorkshire terriers are long-time favorites of admirers of small dogs. These playful fidgets captivate with their energy, serious character for such kids, cute shaggy face and standing ears. But it is not uncommon for Yorkies to have their ears not rising on their own. Then the help of the owners or veterinarians is required for gluing the ears. There are several ways to glue the ears of Yorkies.

It is necessary

safe shaving machine or shaving machine (special for dogs or regular), adhesive plaster 2-4 cm wide, scissors, matches, cotton ear buds or toothpicks

Instructions

Step 1

Prepare the dog for the ear gluing procedure. It is necessary to remove excess hair from the surface of the auricles: first, from the outer side of the ear, carefully, so as not to damage the auricle, shave off the hair with a machine or a special electric razor. Then do the same with the inside of the ear. The hair should be shaved as the hair grows, so as not to injure the skin. Experts recommend not to shave off those hairs that grow at the very edge of the auricle (they form a kind of fringe): due to them, the ear will later have a triangular regular appearance.

It is also necessary to remove the wax from the ear and pluck (if possible) the hairs from the depths of the auricle.

Step 2

Take a plaster 2-4 cm wide and cut it into strips 10 cm long. The plaster can be taken not the most sticky so that the peeling procedure is easier later. But it all depends on the temperament of the dog: some especially active individuals rip off such a plaster, so the owners later re-glue their ears with the most firmly adhesive plaster.

Step 3

Spread the york's ear and glue the patch horizontally to the floor from the outside, turn the piece of patch and stick it on the inner surface of the ear. Do the same operation with the second ear. Cut off the excess sticking plaster. Some experts advise, for greater rigidity of the structure, to glue matches, cotton swabs or toothpicks with a plaster on the outer or inner side of the dog's ear - they support the ear additionally, but this must be done extremely carefully and carefully so that the Yorkie does not get hurt during the game.

Step 7

With such stickers on the ears, the dog should walk for 3-10 days (depending on the complexity of the case), then take a one-day break and glue the ears again for the same period.
