From time to time, the water in the aquarium starts to become cloudy. There are many reasons why such a process occurs. It can be associated with both the vital activity of fish and the quality of food, and with various objects inside the aquarium, including the filter. The clouding of water in the aquarium itself is not dangerous, but it is still necessary to identify and eliminate the causes of this phenomenon.

In most cases, the cause of cloudy water is the massive proliferation of bacteria. If your aquarium is new, you don't have to worry - this is completely normal and will pass over time. If your aquarium has long been "matured", then be sure to transplant the fish into another container and change the water. Sometimes the water starts to turn cloudy due to improper use of chemicals. Therefore, carefully re-read the instructions again to find your mistake, and then transfer the fish to another aquarium, as there is a risk of poisoning. The water can also become cloudy due to the food, which immediately begins to disintegrate in the water - even before it is absorbed fish. These include, for example, fresh meat or improperly thawed food. If this is the case, change the diet of the aquarium dwellers by using high quality food. Sometimes the water begins to color in different, completely uncharacteristic tones. In most cases, this is due to the color of the aquarium decorations. For example, peat or wood stains the water brown, while pink gravel gives the water a reddish hue. In most cases, this phenomenon is not dangerous for fish. In order to get rid of the strange tints, simply treat the water with activated charcoal tablets, as they are excellent absorbents. Water can become cloudy as a result of the uplifting of substances that have accumulated in the aquarium substrate. The release of such a substance can occur as a result of the activities of fish or the person himself. Do not worry about this - the mule must be removed by the filtration system. If the water begins to cloud, then be sure to check the filter - it may be broken or not working intensively enough. Quite often, dead fish are the cause of water pollution. In a large aquarium, it is quite difficult to see small dead fish sinking to the bottom. Therefore, try to check the aquarium and its pets as often as possible. If you find dead fish, immediately catch them out of the water, as they begin to decompose very quickly.
